Is voter fraud being committed in Ohio?

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two volunteer poll workers at an Ohio voting station told Human Events that they observed van loads of Ohio residents born in Somalia — the state is home to the second-largest Somali population in the United States — being driven to the voting station and guided by Democratic interpreters on the voting process. No Republican interpreters were present, according to these volunteers.

While it’s not unusual for get-out-the-vote groups to help voters get to the polls, the volunteers who talked to Human Events observed a number of troubling and questionable activities.

A source, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a volunteer outside the Morse Road polling center.  She has witnessed Somalis who cannot speak English come to the polling center. They are brought in groups, by van or bus. The Democrats hand them a slate card and say, “vote Brown all the way down.” Given that Sherrod Brown is the incumbent Democrat Senator in Ohio, one can assume that this is the reference.

Non-English speaking voters may use an interpreter. The interpreters are permitted by law to interpret for the individual voting; however, they are forbidden from influencing their vote in any way. Another source who also wishes to remain anonymous has seen Democrat interpreters show the non-English speaking Somalis how to vote the Democrat slate that they were handed outside. According to this second source, there are not any Republican Somali interpreters available.
The logical follow-up question is whether a non-English speaking person is an American citizen. Although Republican leadership in Ohio passed a voting reform law, it was repealed by the legislature itself after the Democrats threatened a referendum. According to the Ohio Secretary of State’s web site, someone wanting to vote early in Ohio must supply one of the following in writing on the absentee ballot form, whether voting early by mail or in person: an Ohio driver’s license number; the last four digits of the social security number; or a copy of a current and valid photo identification, military identification, or a current — within the last 12 months — utility bill, including cell phone bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the person’s name and address in addition to the voter registration acknowledgement.

The voter is not required to show the driver’s license or social security card, but must merely write it on the absentee ballot request form. While the individual would be required to show a utility bill, bank statement or other printed document if he or she chooses that option, this is in lieu of writing the driver’s license or social security number. Therefore, the information cannot be checked against the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or other state databases. Essentially, a person is asked to check a box stating that they are a citizen, and the poll worker is to trust that they are the person who is listed on the item being shown or the information being written. In other words, someone can be an illegal resident of the state of Ohio and the United States, get an apartment, turn on the heat, bring in the Columbia Gas bill, register to vote by the deadline, and vote by showing that same bill. There is then no verification that this individual is a citizen of the United States.

Matt McClellan, the press secretary for Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, explained, “There is a process to challenge a voter’s eligibility. The point in time for a challenge to be brought ended mid October. A poll worker could challenge a voter if they had questions as to whether or not a voter was registered or eligible to vote.” However, if the poll worker does not raise the issue at the time the voting occurs, that person’s vote will otherwise be counted on election day along with everyone else’s vote. McClellan was not aware of any reports of irregularities at the Morse Road voting place in Franklin County.

Two phone calls and a text message to the Public Information Office at the Franklin County Board of Elections were not returned.

According to the Somali Community Association of Ohio’s web site, over 45,000 Somalis live in Ohio. Only 40 percent have become citizens of the United States, and only 25 percent speak English well enough to get a job.

The second source mentioned has seen voter intimidation at this same voting place. A Mitt Romney bus stopped near the voting center, approximately 30 Democrats who were outside handing out the slate cards rushed over to the bus. They yelled at the bus, and swarmed around its door when anyone attempted to exit the bus. This, from the “tolerant left.”

All elements of this story are still developing and will be updated as new information is uncovered. Stay tuned.

Darkness Descending in England

By Pamela Geller
October 26, 2012

The arrest of over 53 people in the United Kingdom is the beginning of the end for once-great Britain. The leaders of the English Defence League (EDL), Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, were among those arrested, as well as Paul Weston of the British Freedom Party (BFP). I spoke with Kevin Carroll about his recent arrest and that of Robinson and Weston, and he told me the appalling details.

Carroll told me that British authorities tried everything in the book to stop him from running for police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the Bedfordshire Police Authority.  Nonetheless, he officially won the right to run for PCC last Friday.  But then, the very next day, British authorities carried out these mass arrests of EDL and BFP members, stripping them and forcing them to wear white paper overalls like those given to incarcerated terrorists.  They were allowed no phone calls.
Meanwhile, British police raided the homes of Carroll, Robinson, and three others who had been arrested.  "They absolutely ransacked mine," Carroll told me.  "They smashed the door off and wrecked my home.  They took my only vehicle, with all the tools of my trade inside, and impounded it, as well as Tommy's car."  The police, the bomb squad, forensics teams, and sniffer dogs spent seven and a half hours stripping Carroll's van to the bone.  "When they finished," he said, "they found nothing!  They loaded it up with bugs and GPS monitors and threw everything in the back; it looks like it's been in a blender."
After smashing the door to Carroll's home off its hinges, police officials repaired it, got a locksmith to put on a new lock, and left with the new keys, leaving Carroll locked out of his own home.  When Carroll was released, still wearing his white paper prison suit, it was dark and raining; true to form, police officials offered him no transportation, even though it was late at night on a Sunday.
Robinson is being held in Wandsworth prison, an old and antiquated structure with a large population of Muslim prisoners.  Weston was arrested and later released without charge for refusing to leave a reception area without information about Robinson.  And it is clear why officials would not want that information to get out: not only has Robinson been placed with the general prison population instead of segregated for his own protection, but prison officials have even put him in a cell with hostile Muslims.  He was allowed to call his wife Jenna, and he told her that he knew it was going to be "lively" in the cell.  That was an understatement: prison officials have deliberately put Robinson in physical danger and even imperiled his life.  Carroll contacted a high-ranking police official to request that Robinson be segregated, and she received a promise that he would be, but it hasn't happened yet -- and Robinson has even been denied bail.
"They are really coming at us with everything," Carroll told me.  "I'm even on police bail at the moment for 'conspiracy to cause a public nuisance.'"  This is a politically motivated and trumped up charge, but in Britain it can carry a life sentence.
According to Carroll, Robinson was incarcerated for leaving the United Kingdom and entering the United States fraudulently for our September 11, 2012 Stop Islamization of Nations free speech conference in New York City.  Robinson could get twelve to eighteen months in prison just for that.  "They are really turning up the heat here, Pamela," said Carroll.  "They are going after all of us, especially Tommy and me."  The EDL said in a statement: "Tommy has been dragged from one court to another -- almost always without any serious chance of conviction -- simply in order to help disrupt our activities and to prevent us from voicing our legitimate concerns about the spread of Islamic extremism."
Carroll's bail hearing is set for November 30, which gives him just two weeks after the November 15 elections to prepare his defense.  Anyone who can vote for Bedfordshire police authority commissioner and who loves freedom should vote for Kevin Carroll; it could be your last hope to preserve the freedom of speech and the principle of the equality of rights for all people in Britain.
Clearly the establishment elites in Britain are extremely worried that Carroll might win and upset the entrenched culture of accommodation to Islam and sharia; in fact, one of the briefs in Carroll's case actually stated that this was why he was arrested -- because he is running for PCC.  The dhimmi elites understand that this could be the beginning of their end.  "The police," said Carroll, "are out to finish us on behalf of the establishment."
This is a defining moment in British history, as significant as any major turning point.  It is in many respects like the Night of the Long Knives, which marked the point of no return from Nazism for Germany.  With these outrageous and politically motivated arrests, Britain has entered a dark and dangerous new era.  Said Weston: "The full power of the State appears to be concentrating on shutting down any political dissent.  This does not really feel like a democratic country anymore."
Carroll is organizing a demonstration outside Wandsworth prison this coming Saturday morning.  All free citizens in Britain should be there.  And is there no one is the political establishment in the U.K. who has any decency, integrity, or spine?  No one who will stand up against these outrages?

Absentee ballots may have been destroyed in crash

[ed. Operation: 'Steal the Vote' has begun early...]

Associated Press
27th October, 2012

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Federal officials say that absentee ballots being sent to U.S. military serving in Afghanistan may have been burned in a plane crash.

A top official in the Federal Voting Assistance Program this week notified election officials across the nation that a transport plane crashed at Shindad Air Base on Oct. 19.

The crash resulted in the destruction of 4,700 pounds of mail inbound to troops serving in the area.
Federal officials in their email to state election offices said they did not know if any ballots were destroyed. They also said the lost mail was limited to one zip code.

But they recommended that election officials resend a new ballot to anyone who requested one since the first ballot may have been destroyed in the crash and fire.

Al Gore's Current TV putting itself up for sale

By ROBERT LAURIE
October 26th, 2012

As usual, left-wing media outlets only make money when they're being liquidated

Founded in 2005 by Al Gore, Current TV quickly made a name for itself as a go-to source for environmental incoherence, Democrat lunacy, and far-left diatribes.  If providing an outlet for liberal kooks was the goal, it succeeded admirably.  However, if it was trying to attract viewers, well, it's had some difficulty.  Now, it's up for sale.

CEO Joel Hyatt recently told the New York Post that “Current has been approached many times by media companies interested in acquiring our company. This year alone, we have had three inquiries. As a consequence, we thought it might be useful to engage expertise to help us evaluate our strategic options.”

That's big-time TV exec speak that roughly translates as "We're getting ready to dump this turkey."
The network began its life by focusing on young, high school and college age, liberals.  Predictably, its early crusade against global warming failed to attract eyeballs, so it began to reinvent itself as a standard, left-wing, talking head channel - packed with a host of zany pundits that even MSNBC had rejected.

Chief among these was Keith Olbermann who, after being fired from MSNBC due to his horrible personality, took his show "Countdown" to Current in 2011.  There, he experienced the same kind of ego-driven controversies that have plagued him at every network in his career.  The acquisition of Countdown was supposed to save the struggling net but, a few months after he started, Olbermann started to implode.  He began insulting his bosses, famously referring to the station as "amateur hour," and was fired seven months ago.

Since then, Current has played host to a wide range of progressive nut jobs, with its most notable shows including such outstanding fare as “Joy Behar: Say Anything!,” “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer,” and of course, "The War Room with Jennifer Granholm."

All of these programs boast ratings which are regularly dwarfed by those earned by Dukes of Hazzard reruns.

Current reaches approximately 60 million homes, earning 12 cents per cable subscriber or a little more than $80 million a year.  It generates a measly $16 million a year in advertising revenue.

New Explosive Benghazi Allegations: CIA Operators Told to ‘Stand Down’ During Attack As 3 Urgent Requests for Military Back-Up Were Denied

[ed. The Obama media are ignoring this scandal, get the message out...]

Billy Hallowell
October 26, 2012

Explosive new allegations surrounding the Benghazi attack emerged this morning, with FOX News’ Jennifer Griffin reporting that sources have confirmed that three urgent requests for military assistance sent from the CIA annex were all denied. Additionally, CIA operators were told to “stand down” rather than respond when shots were heard around 9:40 p.m. on September 11. Following the alleged developments, Charles Woods, father of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods who was killed in the attack, passionately responded to this new information on Glenn Beck’s radio program (see his comments at the end of the article).

Let’s begin by examining the new-found allegations: Glen Doherty and Woods, the two former Navy SEALS who were among the four Americans inevitably murdered, allegedly disobeyed orders from superiors to “stand down” in the wake of the attack. Despite being told by higher-ups not to respond, they purportedly decided to go to the main consulate building to help U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and others who were under siege.

While it was previously known that these men arrived on the scene to provide assistance, the alleged “stand down” orders and the repeatedly-denied requests for military assistance are new developments to a story that seems to be continuously unraveling.

When the attack first took form, Doherty and Woods were at a secure CIA annex only one mile away from the chaos unfolding at the compound. After the men heard shots fired, they promptly let the chain of command know about the situation on the ground. However, FOX’s sources claim that they were told to refrain from action. This same mandate was given to the men when they called a second time just one hour later to report that the dangerous situation was still unfolding at the consulate.
Here’s the FOX News report, below:

After being told twice to refrain from involvement, Woods, Doherty and two others ignored orders and made their way to the main compound, where violence was raging. At this point, the building was on fire and shots were exchanged, however they took action. FOX News has more:
Woods, Doherty and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire….The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.
At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.
Earlier today, TheBlaze reported about the questions surrounding the lack of a military response to the situation on the ground. Sources appear to claim that there were potential options that could have been pursued, although these avenues were reportedly not taken during the September 11 attack. While the forces available at Sigonella could have been flown into Benghazi in less than two hours, they, too, were also allegedly told to “stand down.”
Around 3 a.m. that evening, a pro-U.S. Libyan militia finally showed up at the CIA annex. And an American Quick Reaction Force that was sent from Tripoli arrived at the Benghazi airport at 2 a.m., but was delated for 45 minutes over transportation confusion. In both instances, though, the arrivals were hours after the initial attacks took place.
FOX News has more regarding how Woods and Doherty were killed hours after the initial attack on the consulate commenced. Rather than perishing at the main compound, the ex-Navy SEALS were back at the CIA annex when the attach took place:
Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, were part of a Global Response Staff or GRS that provides security to CIA case officers and provides countersurveillance and surveillance protection. They were killed by a mortar shell at 4 a.m. Libyan time, nearly seven hours after the attack on the Consulate began — a window that represented more than enough time for the U.S. military to send back-up from nearby bases in Europe, according to sources familiar with Special Operations. Four mortars were fired at the annex. The first one struck outside the annex. Three more hit the annex.
Here’s additional information about the deadly attack that took Woods and Doherty’s lives, as reported by CNN back in September:
After arriving back at the annex, the incident was far from over for the security team, which included Woods and Doherty. An attack was launched on the annex — this one more intense than the initial assault on the main building.
Military officials in Benghazi told CNN that rocket-propelled grenades were among the heavy firepower used by the attackers at the annex, with one official saying mortars were also fired.
“It was during that (second attack) that two additional U.S. personnel were killed and two others were wounded,” a senior administration official said last week in providing details of the attack. Those two victims were later confirmed to be Doherty and Woods.
Earlier today, TheBlaze covered debate surrounding drones and whether or not U.S. officials had the ability to watch a portion of the Libyan attack in real time. Considering these latest allegations, this question seems increasingly important.
Some, like reporter Geraldo Rivera, have dismissed the notion that the battle was being viewed live by officials as it progressed. But an October 20 report from CBS News claims that a portion of the attack was potentially seen by officials. In fact, according to the network, “hours after the attack began, an unmanned Predator drone was sent over the U.S. mission in Benghazi, and that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft apparently observed the final hours of the protracted battle.”
FOX, too, reported today that there were two military surveillance drones that were send to Benghazi after the attack on the U.S. consulate began. Both of these drones had the capability to send images back to government officials (including the White House situation room), although it’s not immediately clear how, if at all, these images were used.
On Friday morning, radio host Glenn Beck interviewed Charles Woods, father of ex-Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods. He reacted to the explosive, new allegations, deriding the “stand down” orders and calling for “moral strength.” Here is his complete on-air reaction:
“That is cowardice by the people that issued that order. And our country is not a country of cowards. Our country is the greatest nation on Earth. And what we need to do is we need to raise up a generation of American heroes just like Ty who is an American hero. But in order to do that, we need to raise up a generation that has not just physical strength but moral strength.  We do not need another generation of liars who lack moral strength.”
These revelations come one day after TheBlaze reported that President Barack Obama first alluded to his belief that the Benghazi assault was pre-planned just hours after the assault unfolded. He made these claims in an obscure CBS News clip that was part of a larger interview (this portion of his September 12 “60 Minutes” appearance was not originally aired) which came to light over the past few days.
In the days following Obama’s interview, the administration’s claims about the Libya attack changed drastically, as officials reported that it was the result of an anti-Islam film called “Innocence of Muslims.” Considering Obama’s original views on the matter, the timeline of the administration’s rhetoric has come under scrutiny.

Hospitals bribed to put patients on pathway to death: Cash incentive for NHS trusts that meet targets on Liverpool Care Pathway

By Steve Doughty
25 October 2012

Hospitals are paid millions to hit targets for the number of patients who die on the Liverpool Care Pathway, the Mail can reveal.

The incentives have been paid to hospitals that ensure a set percentage of patients who die on their wards have been put on the controversial regime.

In some cases, hospitals have been set targets that between a third and two thirds of all the deaths should be on the LCP, which critics say is a way of hastening the deaths of terminally ill patients.

At least £30million in extra money from taxpayers is estimated to have been handed to hospitals over the past three years to achieve these goals.

Critics of the method warned last night that financial incentives for hospitals could influence the work of doctors.

The LCP involves withdrawal of life-saving treatment. Patients are sedated and most are denied nutrition and fluids by tube. On average a patient put on the Pathway dies within 29 hours.

[ed. How Orwellian calling it a 'care pathway'. This is just Schiavo all over again. How can anyone deny food and water to patients?...]

One of the leading critics, hospital consultant Professor Patrick Pullicino, said: 'Given the fact that the diagnosis of impending death is such a subjective one, putting a financial incentive into the mix is really not a good idea and it could sway the decision-making process.'

LCP is thought to be used in more than 100,000 cases a year.

Yesterday the Association for Palliative Medicine, which represents doctors working in hospices and on specialist hospital wards, announced it is organising an inquiry into the method.

The LCP is intended to ease the final hours of patients who are close to death and to spare them the suffering associated with invasive treatment.

Payments to hospitals to introduce it are made through a system called Commissioning for Quality and Innovation, or CQUIN, which channels money to hospital trusts through NHS 'commissioners'.

The use of CQUIN payments to encourage the spread of the LCP through the wards and to persuade doctors to meet Pathway targets was revealed in answers to Freedom of Information requests.

Among trusts that confirmed the use of targets was Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which said that in the financial year which ended in March the percentage of patients who died on the Pathway was '43 per cent against a target of 35 per cent'.

Over the year the Trust received £308,000 for achieving 'goals involving the Liverpool Care Pathway'. Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust had CQUIN payments connected to the Liverpool Care Pathway almost halved after failing to reach targets.

The Trust was offered £73,385 for increasing numbers of patients who die at home rather than in hospital.

Part of the scheme was a target for the number of patients discharged from hospital to die at home after being put on the Liverpool Care Pathway.

This would have paid £36,392 if a 47.6 per cent target had been reached. Its FOI statement said: 'The Trust achieved 45.5 per cent so funding for the LCP element was reduced to £18,600.'

FOI replies so far received by the Mail suggest that if the money paid by NHS commissioners were spread equally around all NHS acute hospitals, it would mean £30million has been sunk into the campaign to put the Pathway into universal use since 2009.

The Department of Health defended LCP payments by target last night. A spokesman said: 'It is right local areas try to improve the care and support offered to dying people as it means patients are more comfortable and treated with dignity in their final days and hours.

'We are clear the Liverpool Care Pathway can only work if each patient is fully consulted, where this is feasible, and their family involved in all aspects of decision-making. Staff must properly communicate with the patient and their family – any failure to do so is unacceptable.'

But Dr Tony Cole, chairman of the Medical Ethics Alliance pressure group said: 'If death is accelerated by a single day that will save the NHS nearly £200 – that is the estimated cost of a patient per day in hospital.

'My position on the LCP is that it is inherently dangerous and unnecessary.'

Obama gaffe on Leno

By David Shepardson
October 25, 2012
[ed. I post this to illustrate exaclty who we are dealing with (lest you were under any illusion), a pathological liar even when he doesn't need to be on trivial subjects. And he calls Romney a BSer??  Pertinent points are highlighted in blue...]

Washington — President Barack Obama said he may back the Detroit Tigers in the World Series.
Obama said on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Wednesday he may support the Tigers, even though they defeated his favorite team — the Chicago White Sox — in the American League Central division.

"I will say, I've spent a lot of time in Detroit lately, and I didn't want to let Detroit go bankrupt. So in this particular World Series, I might be a little partial," Obama said in comments taped before the Tigers lost the opening game of the series, 8-3, to the San Francisco Giants.

While the president has spent a lot of time talking about Detroit, he hasn't visited Detroit since September 2011, when he spoke at a Labor Day rally, and last visited Michigan on April 18, when he held fundraisers in Dearborn and Bingham Farms. The president has visited Michigan 11 times since taking office, but only visited the Motor City twice since becoming president.

Obama also visited Detroit as president in July 2010 to tour General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC factories in the city, but he had no public events.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has publicly challenged Obama to return to Detroit more often.
"People say Detroit is important to this administration. OK, prove it by coming here," Bing told reporters at a breakfast meeting of Michigan delegates in Charlotte, N.C., last month.

Leftists, Islamists, and perpetual outrage

Eric Golub
Sept 20, 2012
Most people go through life just living their lives. They wake up, go to work, come home, spend time with their families, and keep on keeping on. They earn what they keep and appreciate their lives. Yet two groups of people go through life in a state of rage. For them, happiness can only be derived by inflicting misery on others.
This is the world of leftists and Islamists.
Whenever these thin-skinned groups are criticized, the inevitable charges come through. The critics are racists, sexists, bigots, homophobes, infidels, blasphemers, and other epithets that lost their meaning years ago.
When those epithets fail, the critics are referred to as "biased." I am an opinion columnist. Of course I am biased. I'm also right. Leftists and Islamists cannot get through a day without savaging the rest of the world.
With Islamists, any criticism of their God or even their religion is a capital offense. Judaism has thrived for thousands of years by being self-critical, sometimes overly so. Radical Islam does not allow any criticism. While this leads to violent behavior that sometimes provides victories in the short run (especially when weak-kneed jellyfish enablers in the West allow it), it proves destructive in the long run. One Jewish state of Israel in the Middle East has made spectacular advances in law, medicine, and technology, while the Muslim nations remain mired in the fourteenth century.
This is how Islamists are able to take an American ambassador and murder him in cold blood. This is how they can burn down American embassies and consulates. This is how they can rape, beat, stone, and hack off heads without the slightest moral concerns. Their behavior is justified because they are "offended."
Americans feed into this psychotic behavior by blaming a "movie." Most people have never seen the movie but heard from somebody they do not know in real life that it was bad.
Could it possibly be that the Islamists were offended to begin with,  and that enablers simply guessed the reason why until they found something that fit their predetermined narrative?
The real reason Islamists are offended is the same reason water is wet: It is a given. They wake up and they are angry.
The same explanation holds for leftists.
Anybody insulting their demigod Barack Obama or his supporters is a blasphemer who must be destroyed. The truthfulness of the critical statements is irrelevant. Merely uttering them is a capital offense. Vigorous debate that could strengthen critics and defenders alike is thrown away. Intellectually rigorous thought is tossed aside in favor of rigid, inflexible, unbending leftist groupthink.
This is how the liberal media is more interested in Mitt Romney blaming failed Obama policies for the death of an American ambassador than they are about the actual death of the American ambassador.
They are more interested in Romney claiming that liberal Obama voters are parasites than the fact that many liberal Obama voters actually are parasites.
Liberals yell at me for pointing out Obama's policies have resulted in colossal failure rather than be angry at him for actually enacting them.
Liberals are more angry at me for pointing out that Sandra Fluke is a drain on society who demands free stuff at my expense than they are at her for doing it.
They are more angry when I point out that Chicago schoolteachers are useless individuals failing to help young children than they are at what actually happens to these children.
Shooting the messenger cannot work forever because the internet has allowed for an explosion of messengers. When leftist Occupy Wall Street protesters or Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists resort to violence, evidence can surface instantaneously. Conversely, when Tea Party attendees are accused of violence, a lack of visual evidence anywhere in this world also speaks volumes.
Leftists and Islamists are able to thrive because other ideologies do not resort to their tactics. They can spread chaos knowing that others will act in an orderly manner.
This is where the "normal" people go wrong. They try to apply social norms and standards to those who lack any boundaries. Most cultures and ideologies see others as human beings in a world filled with differing ways of existing. Leftists and Islamists do not allow, respect, or tolerate dissent. Either conform to the leftist or Islamist supreme leader, or face everything from ostracism and ridicule to literal murder.
The solution is simple. Leftists and Islamists are bullies. The only thing bullies understand is force.
With leftists, it means spending every waking minute pointing out that everything they believe in has failed.
The end of the Chicago teachers' strike means students can now go back to being condemned to a life of misery unless they are lucky enough to get shot or stabbed in school early on. Chicago teachers going on strike is like the French going on strike. How can you tell?
This is before getting to the various collection of activists in the leftist coalition who care more about trees and animals than human beings. The problem is not pointing out the fraud in the environmental and animal rights movements. The problem is that the movements are riddled with fraud and would rather lash out than fix themselves. They want to clean the world but cannot clean their own houses.
Leftists are slowly killing civilization through terrible schools, anti-business policies, worship of trees and animals at the expense of humans, and government handouts from birth until death that rob humans of their last shred of dignity.
Islamists at least act with efficiency, murdering anybody who gets in the way in short order.
The solution for them is much simpler. They need to be obliterated from this Earth, and that is done through the use of munitions.
American society cannot and must not try to get to the "root causes" of why leftists and Islamists are outraged. We cannot surrender faster than one can giggle out the words "French Resistance."
This week France posted cartoons of Mohammed. Islamists screamed. The French acted like themselves and are now in full groveling apolgy mode.
Leftist and Islamist outrage is in perpetuity. It will be within them forever. They are incapable of introspection, and are therefore unwilling to moderate their anger.
Shining a light on them does not work. The only hope for light for the rest of us is by defeating them.

White House told of militant claim two hours after Libya attack: emails

Oct 23, 2012

(Reuters) - Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.
The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.
The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.
U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the Benghazi assault, which President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials ultimately acknowledged was a "terrorist" attack carried out by militants with suspected links to al Qaeda affiliates or sympathizers.
Administration spokesmen, including White House spokesman Jay Carney, citing an unclassified assessment prepared by the CIA, maintained for days that the attacks likely were a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim film.
While officials did mention the possible involvement of "extremists," they did not lay blame on any specific militant groups or possible links to al Qaeda or its affiliates until intelligence officials publicly alleged that on September 28.
There were indications that extremists with possible al Qaeda connections were involved, but also evidence that the attacks could have erupted spontaneously, they said, adding that government experts wanted to be cautious about pointing fingers prematurely.

[ed. Except they didn't mind blaming the film maker for the violence, prematurely...]

U.S. intelligence officials have emphasized since shortly after the attack that early intelligence reporting about the attack was mixed.
Spokesmen for the White House and State Department had no immediate response to requests for comments on the emails.

MISSIVES FROM LIBYA
The records obtained by Reuters consist of three emails dispatched by the State Department's Operations Center to multiple government offices, including addresses at the White House, Pentagon, intelligence community and FBI, on the afternoon of September 11.
The first email, timed at 4:05 p.m. Washington time - or 10:05 p.m. Benghazi time, 20-30 minutes after the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission allegedly began - carried the subject line "U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack" and the notation "SBU", meaning "Sensitive But Unclassified."
The text said the State Department's regional security office had reported that the diplomatic mission in Benghazi was "under attack. Embassy in Tripoli reports approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well."
The message continued: "Ambassador Stevens, who is currently in Benghazi, and four ... personnel are in the compound safe haven. The 17th of February militia is providing security support."
A second email, headed "Update 1: U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi" and timed 4:54 p.m. Washington time, said that the Embassy in Tripoli had reported that "the firing at the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi had stopped and the compound had been cleared." It said a "response team" was at the site attempting to locate missing personnel.
A third email, also marked SBU and sent at 6:07 p.m. Washington time, carried the subject line: "Update 2: Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack."
The message reported: "Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli."
While some information identifying recipients of this message was redacted from copies of the messages obtained by Reuters, a government source said that one of the addresses to which the message was sent was the White House Situation Room, the president's secure command post.
Other addressees included intelligence and military units as well as one used by the FBI command center, the source said.
It was not known what other messages were received by agencies in Washington from Libya that day about who might have been behind the attacks.
Intelligence experts caution that initial reports from the scene of any attack or disaster are often inaccurate.
By the morning of September 12, the day after the Benghazi attack, Reuters reported that there were indications that members of both Ansar al-Sharia, a militia based in the Benghazi area, and al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, the North African affiliate of al Qaeda's faltering central command, may have been involved in organizing the attacks.
One U.S. intelligence official said that during the first classified briefing about Benghazi given to members of Congress, officials "carefully laid out the full range of sparsely available information, relying on the best analysis available at the time."
The official added, however, that the initial analysis of the attack that was presented to legislators was mixed.
"Briefers said extremists were involved in attacks that appeared spontaneous, there may have been a variety of motivating factors, and possible links to groups such as (al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and Ansar al-Sharia) were being looked at closely," the official said.

US Election: Donald Trump offers Barack Obama farcical $5m 'deal'

24 Oct 2012

Mr Trump's much-hyped announcement was rumoured to be anything from the publication of mythical Obama divorce papers to claims that the President dealt cocaine in college.
In fact, Mr Trump’s revelation turned out to be a bizarre “deal” to donate $5 million to charity should Mr Obama agree to release his college and passport records.

[ed. Still no take up of the offer, interestingly...]
Claiming to be acting as “a spokesperson" for the American people, Mr Trump made a video address on YouTube saying: “President Obama is the least transparent president in the history of this country. There’s never been anything like it."

[ed. Mr Trump's obvious ego and showmanship aside, this remains a very salient statement. It is very odd, especially considering Obama is two weeks away from a Presidential election in which he wants you to "trust" him, that all his secrets are under lock and key...]
He offered Mr Obama "a deal that I do not believe he can refuse and I hope he doesn’t", vowing to immediately write a cheque to a charity of the President's choice in return for releasing the records within the next week.
“If he releases these records it will end the question and indeed the anger of many Americans. They’ll know something about their president. Their president will become transparent,” Mr Trump intoned.
Mr Trump, who led the charge in the so-called birther conspiracy and attempted to cast doubt that the president was born in the US, had boasted earlier this week that his revelation was set to possibly change the race for the White House.

He told Fox News: "[I have] something very, very big concerning the president of the United States. It's going to be very big. I know one-thing – you will cover it in a very big fashion."

Mr Trump has a dubious record when it comes to allegations about Mr Obama, which has led to some commentators to question why Mitt Romney has failed to distance himself from the mogul.
The White House released Mr Obama's birth certificatel last year, showing he had been born in Hawaii and not Kenya as some conservatives had relentlessly insisted.

[ed. The white house did no such thing. Obama presented America with an obvious computer generated forgery complete with ridiculous amateur errors, in yet another public misdirection. The real documents are under court injunction, to this day...]

Mr Romney has also faced conspiracy theories of his own with celebrity attorney Gloria Allred requesting what is rumoured to be damaging information about the former governor given in sealed court records concerning the divorce case of his friend Tom Stemberg, the founder of Staples.
Mr Trump’s “revelation” came on the same day that the independent Republican superPAC American Crossroads, released a new TV advert starring Clint Eastwood.

In the commercial the Hollywood icon criticises Mr Obama's economic record and tells listeners that reelecting him for a second term would be a "rerun of the first, and our country just couldn't survive that."

The real reason behind Benghazigate

Was Obama gun-walking arms to jihadists?

By David Sherfinski -
October 23, 2012

President Obama’s once seemingly unstoppable march toward re-election hit what he might call “bumps in the road” in Benghazi, Libya, late on Sept. 11, 2012. It might be more accurate to describe the effect of the well-planned and -executed, military-style attack on a diplomatic facility there as the political equivalent of a devastating improvised explosive device on the myth of the unassailability of the Obama record as commander in chief.

Thanks to intrepid investigative reporting — notably by Bret Baier and Catherine Herridge at Fox News, Aaron Klein at WND.com and Clare Lopez at RadicalIslam.org — and information developed by congressional investigators, the mystery is beginning to unravel with regard to what happened that night and the reason for the subsequent, clumsy official cover-up now known as Benghazigate.
The evidence suggests that the Obama administration has not simply been engaging, legitimating, enriching and emboldening Islamists who have taken over or are ascendant in much of the Middle East. Starting in March 2011, when American diplomat J. Christopher Stevens was designated the liaison to the “opposition” in Libya, the Obama administration has been arming them, including jihadists like Abdelhakim Belhadj, leader of the al Qaeda franchise known as the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group.

Once Moammar Gadhafi was overthrown, Stevens was appointed ambassador to the new Libya run by Mr. Belhadj and his friends. Not surprisingly, one of the most important priorities for someone in that position would be to try to find and secure the immense amount of armaments that had been cached by the dictator around the country and systematically looted during and after the revolution.
One of the places in Libya most awash with such weapons in the most dangerous of hands is Benghazi. It now appears that Stevens was there — on a particularly risky day, with no security to speak of and despite now copiously documented concerns about his own safety and that of his subordinates — for another priority mission: sending arms recovered from the former regime’s stocks to the “opposition” in Syria. As in Libya, the insurgents are known to include al Qaeda and other Shariah-supremacist groups, including none other than Abdelhakim Belhadj.

Fox News has chronicled how the Al Entisar, a Libyan-flagged vessel carrying 400 tons of cargo, docked on Sept. 6 in the Turkish port of Iskenderun. It reportedly supplied both humanitarian assistance and arms — including deadly SA-7 man-portable surface-to-air missiles — apparently destined for Islamists, again including al Qaeda elements, in Syria.

What cries out for further investigation — and debate in the remaining days of this presidential election — is whether this shipment was part of a larger covert Obama effort to transfer weapons to our enemies that could make the Iran-Contra scandal, to say nothing of Operation Fast and Furious, pale by comparison.

Investigative journalist Aaron Klein has reported that the “consulate in Benghazi” actually was no such thing. He observes that although administration officials have done nothing to correct that oft-repeated characterization of the facility where the murderous attack on Stevens and his colleagues was launched, they call it a “mission.” What Mr. Klein describes as a “shabby, nondescript building” that lacked any “major public security presence” was, according to an unnamed Middle Eastern security official, “routinely used by Stevens and others to coordinate with the Turkish, Saudi and Qatari governments on supporting the insurgencies in the Middle East, most prominently the rebels opposing Assad’s regime in Syria.”

We know that Stevens‘ last official act was to hold such a meeting with an unidentified “Turkish diplomat.” Presumably, the conversation involved additional arms shipments to al Qaeda and its allies in Syria. It also may have involved getting more jihadi fighters there. After all, Mr. Klein reported last month that, according to sources in Egyptian security, our ambassador was playing a “central role in recruiting jihadists to fight Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria.”

It gets worse. Last week, Center for Security Policy senior fellow and former career CIA officer Clare Lopez observed that there were two large warehouse-type buildings associated with the so-called “consulate” whose purpose has yet to be disclosed. As their contents were raided in the course of the attack, we may never know for sure whether they housed — and were known by the local jihadis to house — arms, perhaps administered by the two former Navy SEALs killed along with Stevens.
What we do know is that the New York Times — one of the most slavishly pro-Obama publications in the country — reported in an Oct. 14 article, “Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups that the West wants to bolster.”

In short, it seems President Obama has been engaged in gun-walking on a massive scale. The effect has been to equip America’s enemies to wage jihad not only against regimes it once claimed were our friends, but inevitably against us and our allies as well. That would explain his administration’s desperate and now failing bid to mislead the voters through the serial deflections of Benghazigate.

Battle of Britain hero William Walker dies aged 99

23 Oct 2012

THE Flight Lieutenant, who was shot down in his Spitfire in the 1940 battle, died in hospital on Sunday after suffering a stroke.

THE oldest surviving Battle of Britain pilot, who was shot down in his Spitfire and wounded in 1940, has died aged 99.

Flight Lieutenant William Walker, born in Hampstead, north London, suffered a stroke last Thursday and died in hospital on Sunday, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust said.

Born on August 24 1913, Mr Walker joined the RAF Volunteer Reserve on September 2 1938 at Kidlington, Oxford, and flew his first solo there a few days later. He was called up for full-time service on September 1 1939 and posted to Cambridge on November 15.

He went to Brize Norton on February 17 1940 and, at the end of the course, was commissioned and posted directly to 616 Squadron at Leconfield on June 18.

During the late morning of August 26 1940, a large German bomber force, with heavy fighter escort, was heading towards targets in England including the RAF fighter stations at Kenley and Biggin Hill. The force was engaged over Kent and the coast by Defiants, Hurricanes and Spitfires.

At Kenley, Spitfires from No 616 (South Yorkshire) Squadron were scrambled to the Dover/Dungeness area and found themselves in a fight with Messerschmitt Bf 109s. Mr Walker's plane was hit and badly damaged and he baled out, landing in the Channel with a bullet in his right ankle.

Mr Walker clung to a shipwreck on the Goodwin Sands before being rescued by a fishing boat, transferred to an RAF launch and brought ashore at Ramsgate, where he was greeted by a large crowd and presented with a packet of cigarettes by an elderly woman.

In later life, Mr Walker enjoyed recounting the story of how, as the surgeon prised the armour-piercing bullet from his ankle during his stay at the RAF Hospital in Halton, it shot out and hit the ceiling. He kept the bullet as a souvenir.

After recovering from his wound, Mr Walker's postings included joining a squadron engaged in anti-aircraft co-operation duties and one with the Sector Gunnery Flight at Gatwick.
Mr Walker had celebrated his 27th birthday two days before he was shot down.

He began his business career in 1931 as a pupil brewer at the Aylesbury Brewery, learning brewing, malting, bottling and cooperage.

Two years later, he joined Ind Coope's brewery in Burton and after the war rose to become its chairman.

Mr Walker attended numerous events with and on behalf of The Few, including the 2012 Memorial Day at Capel-le-Ferne. He donated the proceeds from his book of poetry to the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust's appeal to raise money for The Wing, its new visitor centre, and signed many copies.
Richard Hunting CBE, chairman of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust, said: "Flight Lieutenant William Walker was a warm, engaging and friendly man who always had a twinkle in his eye.
"He worked hard for the trust and gave freely of his time to help with fundraising for The Wing - which is the trust's planned new building at the Capel-le-Ferne site of the national memorial to The Few.

"He was much loved by his fellow veterans, his family and friends and all of us at the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.

"He was regularly prevailed upon to recite one of his poems at trust events and signed many copies of his book to help raise money for The Wing.

"He knew how important it was that we continue to tell the story of what he and the rest of the Few did in 1940."

A Red Carpet for Radicals at the White House

by Steve Emerson and John Rossomando
IPT News
October 21, 2012

A year-long investigation by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has found that scores of known radical Islamists made hundreds of visits to the Obama White House, meeting with top administration officials.
Court documents and other records have identified many of these visitors as belonging to groups serving as fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and other Islamic militant organizations.
The IPT made the discovery combing through millions of White House visitor log entries. IPT compared the visitors' names with lists of known radical Islamists. Among the visitors were officials representing groups which have:
  • Been designated by the Department of Justice as unindicted co-conspirators in terrorist trials; Extolled Islamic terrorist groups including Hamas and Hizballah;
  • Obstructed terrorist investigations by instructing their followers not to cooperate with law enforcement;
  • Promoted the incendiary conspiratorial allegation that the United States is engaged in a "war against Islam"— a leading tool in recruiting Muslims to carry out acts of terror;
  • Repeatedly claimed that many of the Islamic terrorists convicted since 9-11 were framed by the U.S government as part of an anti-Muslim profiling campaign.
Individuals from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) visited the White House at least 20 times starting in 2009. In 2008, CAIR was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist money laundering case in U.S. history – the trial of the Holy Land Foundation in which five HLF officials were convicted of funneling money to Hamas.
U.S. District Court Judge Jorge Solis later ruled that, "The Government has produced ample evidence to establish the association" of CAIR to Hamas, upholding their designations as unindicted co-conspirators. In 2008, the FBI formally ended all contact with CAIR because of its ties to Hamas.

TSA Pulls Use Of Controversial Full Body Scanners At JFK, LaGuardia Airports

Agency: Machines Are Safe, But Move Will Help Speed Up Security Lines

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The controversial full body airport scanners are being removed from LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International, the Transportation Security Administration announced Sunday.

The Backscatter machines were first used at JFK exactly two years ago amid a flurry of controversy.

Opponents said the very detailed image of the human body provided by the machines is an invasion of privacy, while others argued the level of radiation emitted by the Backscatters could be dangerous over the long term.

The TSA said its decision to pull the machines is in an effort to speed up security lines at the two New York City airports, and insists the full body scanners are safe.
Some passengers at LaGuardia said they did not mind the use of the Backscatter body scanner machines.

“It didn’t bother me personally. Again, if I want to be a safe on a plane, if that’s what they need to do to get us on there and have us arrive safely, it’s fine by me,” one woman told WCBS 880′s Peter Haskell.

“Just feel real confident. Once I go through there, I know everything’s been checked out,” another air traveler told Haskell.

Each Backscatter machine costs $160,000, Haskell reported.

“If they can keep the same level of security then I have no issue with it, but they have to get an alternative to make sure that the passengers and the airlines are secure,” another traveler told Haskell.
Officials said currently there are nearly 250 full body scanners at 37 airports nationwide.
Newark Liberty International Airport uses a completely different machine called a millimeter wave machine, which is considered to be a safer technology.

Rowan Atkinson supports reform of insult law

Rowan Atkinson supports reform of insult law

Rowan Atkinson, the comedy star, has given his full support to a Christian Institute-led campaign which aims to reform a controversial ‘insults’ law.

Speaking on Tuesday Mr Atkinson cautioned against “a new but intense desire to gag uncomfortable voices of dissent” – something he said could be called a “New Intolerance”.

And he warned that criticism, unfavourable comparison or “merely stating an alternative point of view” could be interpreted as an insult and lead to arrest.

Mr Atkinson was speaking at a parliamentary reception for Reform Section 5 which is campaigning to change Section 5 of the Public Order Act.

Section 5 currently outlaws “insulting” words or behaviour that may cause alarm or distress to a person, and has resulted in many controversial arrests.

[ed. It states;  A person is guilty of an offence if he—

(a)uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, or
(b)displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby...]

[Source: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1986/64]

But Rowan Atkinson said: “The clear problem with the outlawing of insult is that too many things can be interpreted as such. Criticism is easily construed as insult. Ridicule is easily construed as insult. Sarcasm, unfavourable comparison, merely stating an alternative point of view can be interpreted as insult.”

Warning against “The New Intolerance”, he commented: “‘I am not intolerant’, say many people; say many softly spoken, highly-educated, liberal-minded people: ‘I am only intolerant of intolerance’.

“And people tend to nod sagely and say ‘Oh, Wise words, wise words’ and yet if you think about this supposedly inarguable statement for longer than five seconds, you realise that all it is advocating is the replacement of one kind of intolerance with another. Which to me doesn’t represent any kind of progress at all.”

Mr Atkinson called for “more speech” to combat the problem: “If we want a robust society, we need more robust dialogue and that must include the right to insult or to offend. Because, as someone once said, the freedom to be inoffensive is no freedom at all.”

Mr Atkinson concluded that he gave his “wholehearted” support to the Reform Section 5 campaign which is supported by The Christian Institute, the National Secular Society, the Peter Tatchell Foundation and others.

[ed. Acts of Parliament are not 'laws'. They require the consent of the governed, individually, not collectively ('dictatorship of the majority'), to be enforced...]

You thought the whole 'EUSSR' thing was over the top? Have a look at this poster

I used to find the EUSSR trope tedious, but now…

Take a close look at this promotional poster. Notice anything? Alongside the symbols of Christianity, Judaism, Jainism and so on is one of the wickedest emblems humanity has conceived: the hammer and sickle.

For three generations, the badge of the Soviet revolution meant poverty, slavery, torture and death. It adorned the caps of the chekas who came in the night. It opened and closed the propaganda films which hid the famines. It advertised the people's courts where victims of purges and show-trials were condemned. It fluttered over the re-education camps and the gulags. For hundreds of millions of Europeans, it was a symbol of foreign occupation. Hungary, Lithuania and Moldova have banned its use, and various  former communist countries want it to be treated in the same way as Nazi insignia.
Yet here it sits on a poster in the European Commission, advertising the moral deafness of its author (I hope that's what it is, rather than lingering nostalgia). The Bolshevist sigil celebrates the ideology which, in strict numerical terms, must be reckoned the most murderous ever devised by our species. That it can be passed unremarked day after day in the corridors of Brussels is nauseating.

Secret retirement plans: Does Obama expect to lose?

Insider reveals internal polls, luxury Hawaii estate ready for January

by Jerome R. Corsi
09/19/2012

$35 million Hawaii estate regarded as possible Obama retirement home
Are Obama insiders secretly making retirement plans for the Obamas with the expectation the president will lose his bid for re-election in November?
Very quietly, Obama’s chief financier, Penny Pritzker, has entered the Hawaii housing market to buy a retirement home for the president and his family that will be available not in 2016, but in January 2013, according to a confidential source within Pritzker’s Chicago organization
Pritzker, a wealthy Chicago business executive and heiress to the Hyatt Hotels fortune, served as national finance chairman for Obama’s 2008 campaign and is the co-chairman of his 2012 effort.
The source told WND that highly confidential internal polls conducted by the Obama campaign indicate Obama cannot win re-election, despite public surveys that show him in the lead.
“The public polls are mostly political,” the source argued. “Obama radicals want Romney supporters to feel discouraged and give up. Truth is that Romney’s winning.”

The source further told WND that Pritzker is experiencing frustration in her fundraising efforts, as wealthy donors who contributed generously to Obama in 2008 are not even returning her phone calls. The source said Pritzker is “reminding everyone how generous to their supporters the Clintons were when they left office.”
“Everything is for sale. Ambassadorships, government grants, stimulus money – you name it,” the source told WND.
“There’s nearly three months between the Nov. 6 election and the Jan. 20 inauguration – plenty of time to hand out goodies to friends from the Oval Office.”

[ed. It will be interesting to see who he pardons...Blagojevich, perhaps?]

Aloha
Pritzker is telling potential donors that the Obamas have no intention of returning to Chicago when they leave the White House, according to the source.
She is also raising money for the Obama presidential library and museum, which also are slated for Hawaii.
Pritzker’s search for a developed property, suitable for occupancy four months from now, instead of property where a custom-designed estate might be built, is further indication that insiders believe Obama will not be re-elected.
Kevin DuJan, founder and editor of HillBuzz.org, first reported Pritzker was acting as a proxy to purchase a $35 million oceanfront estate in Kailua, the “Beverly Hills of Hawaii,” on the northeast shore of the island of Oahu.
DuJan reported billionaire Pritzker herself may contribute up to half the $35 million purchase price of the future Obama residence.

[ed. Wow, I thought only Republicans were "rich?"...]

Hawaii Five-O
The property that appears to fit the description is an estate seen in a recent episode of the popular television show “Hawaii Five-O.”
As featured recently in Honolulu Magazine, the property consists of a main residence and a guest home located on 1.5 acres in an area called “Beachfront,” just before the Lanikai neighborhood in Kailua on Oahu’s Windward Coast.
Jeff Kerr of Kerr Michaels Design told Honolulu Magazine he designed the estate to replicate properties constructed in Hawaii in the early 1900s.

Ocean view from living room of possible Obama retirement home
The interior of the house is 8,419 square feet, with another 5,359 square feet of lanai area. The main house has five bedrooms, five baths, two powder rooms, a professional media room and a cabana adjacent to the pool and spa.
A panoramic tour of the world-class, beachfront property can be taken on the Internet, allowing the viewer to “walk through” the home and see its expansive views of the Pacific Ocean.
Signals Obama will leave Chicago behind
In recent months, various members of the Obama family have been indicating that the family does not intend to return to Chicago when the Obama presidency ends.
On Sept. 14, the Weekly Standard reported Michelle Obama was asked by a school child during a visit to a Virginia YMCA where the Obamas would live if President Obama loses.
The first lady said the family would figure that out later, according to the pool report.
In an interview with USA Today in May, Michelle Obama de-emphasized the importance of returning to Chicago.
“So this is home in many ways,” she said, speaking about Chicago. “I mean, we have a house that has stuff in it back in Chicago. We have friends that we love who we invite here all the time.

Inside $35 million Hawaii estate
“But the truth is,” she said, “is that if you plucked us up and put us anywhere right now, what we’d know with this change is that we’re always a family when we’re together. And in the end, that’s what really matters.”
DuJan at HillBuzz.org has been reporting that Michelle Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, who is currently living with the Obama family in the White House, has been bragging about moving to Hawaii.
“It was fun while it lasted,” HillBuzz.org quotes Robinson as saying, “but wait until you see the place they’re buying for Michelle and Barack!”

US ‘too slow’ to act as drone’s cam captured Libya horror

[ed. It gets worse and worse...]

By TIM PERONE
October 21, 2012

The United States had an unmanned Predator drone over its consulate in Benghazi during the attack that slaughtered four Americans — which should have led to a quicker military response, it was revealed yesterday.
“They stood, and they watched, and our people died,” former CIA commander Gary Berntsen told CBS News.
The network reported that the drone and other reconnaissance aircraft observed the final hours of the hours-long siege on Sept. 11 — obtaining information that should have spurred swift action.
But as Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three colleagues were killed by terrorists armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, Defense Department officials were too slow to send in the troops, Berntsen said.

VIEW TO A KILL: As terrorists attacked the consulate in Benghazi, a US Predator drone was reportedly observing from above.
EPA
VIEW TO A KILL: As terrorists attacked the consulate in Benghazi, a US Predator drone was reportedly observing from above.

“They made zero adjustments in this. You find a way to make this happen,” he fumed.
“There isn’t a plan for every single engagement. Sometimes you have to be able to make adjustments.”
The Pentagon said it moved a team of special operators from Central Europe to Sigonella, Italy — about an hour flight from Libya — but gave no other details.
Fighter jets and Specter AC-130 gunships — which could have been used to help disperse the bloodthirsty mob — were also stationed at three nearby bases, sources told the network.
When the attack began, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Martin Dempsey and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta “looked at available options, and the ones we exercised had our military forces arrive in less than 24 hours, well ahead of timelines laid out in established policies,” a White House official told the network.
Even as the administration continues to vow that the perpetrators will be brought to justice, the man identified by witnesses as a ringleader in the attack continues to walk the streets of Libya without fear of arrest.
Ahmad Abu Khattala has admitted being at the consulate during the horrific attack but has yet to be questioned by any Libyan authorities.
Abu Khattala spoke to a New York Times reporter Thursday from a hotel patio as he sipped a strawberry frappe and mocked the US and Libyan governments.
“These reports say that no one knows where I am and that I am hiding,” he boasted. “But here I am in the open, sitting in a hotel with you. I’m even going to pick up my sister’s kids from school soon.”
Lax security at the consulate was an open secret.
Stevens wrote a cable in June that there wasn’t enough security at the consulate, and he noted there had been a recent spike in attacks against “international organizations and foreign interests,” ABC News said.
The ambassador wrote another cable in August that read, “A series of violent incidents has dominated the political landscape during the Ramadan holiday.”
Stevens said that the incidents were “organized” and that the Libyan security force had “not coalesced into a stabilizing force and [provided] little deterrence.”
Several requests for additional security in Benghazi were made to the State Department prior to the attack. They were all rejected.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton tried to deflect blame from President Obama last week, saying the decision not to beef up guards was her responsibility.
“I’m in charge of the State Department’s 60,000-plus people all over the world [at] 275 posts,” she told CNN.
“The president and the vice president wouldn’t be knowledgeable about specific decisions that are made by security professionals. They’re the ones who weigh all of the threats and the risks and the needs and make a considered decision.”
The attack has become a major issue in the presidential campaign, with Mitt Romney saying Obama’s failure to safeguard the consulate highlights his failure in foreign policy.
Romney has also hammered Obama for failing to immediately label it a terror attack and the administration for changing its story about whether the attack was a protest over an anti-Islamic movie or a coordinated strike.
The tragedy — and alleged security lapses leading up to the attack — will likely be brought up at tomorrow’s final presidential debate.
The 90-minute debate will be moderated by Bob Schieffer of CBS News. Schieffer has listed five subject areas, with more time devoted to the Middle East and terrorism than any other topic.

The real hate crime is persecuting a decent man for his beliefs

By Amanda Platell

Adrian Smith is a kind and gentle man. Friends say the happily married father is a pillar of the community, a practising Christian and a tireless worker for charity.

Yet this week Mr Smith was in court, defending accusations that he is a bigot whose personal views are so offensive and outrageous that they are incompatible with his work as a housing officer.

His crime? To have put a posting on his personal Facebook page which said he thought civil partnerships ceremonies in church were ‘an equality too far’.

Specifically, he said: ‘If the State wants to offer civil marriages to the same sex, then that is up to the State; but the State shouldn’t impose its rules on places of faith or conscience.’

Hardly inflammatory, then. Yet these comments led to him being demoted from his job, after complaints from colleagues and an investigation by his company’s ‘equality and diversity lead’.

His salary was reduced by 40 per cent by the Trafford Housing Trust, which claimed he was guilty of ‘gross misconduct’ because people might mistake his views as trust policy.

What utter nonsense. And what a terrifying insight into the dystopian world we now live in — a world where a man can be penalised for a thought crime, even when that thought is shared by a huge proportion of  the population.
One of the colleagues who complained about Mr Smith’s comments said they showed he was ‘blatantly homophobic’.

No they didn’t. Yet such is the ludicrously PC world we now live in (fuelled by the metropolitan views of David Cameron, Nick Clegg and their liberal elite circle) that anyone who does not agree with gay marriage is automatically branded a bigot and a homophobe. They are no such thing.

As regular readers will know, I share Mr Smith’s views. I wholeheartedly support civil partnerships, but believe that it is not for any government to ride roughshod over centuries of  tradition — or, indeed, over the will  of the electorate — by introducing  gay marriage.

Seventy per cent of people believe marriage should remain a union between a man and a woman. Even among the gay community, only 39 per cent agree that changing the law on gay marriage should be a priority.

Are we all to be investigated, demoted and financially penalised, as Mr Smith has been?

Of course, I respect the views of those who disagree with me, and I defend their right to express them — except when they do so violently and abusively. That is what free speech is all about.

What I deplore is the persecution of people like Mr Smith simply for standing up for what they believe in. There’s a word for that: tyranny.
